The BNZ Confidence Survey for May has found an 18 month high in the level of optimism businesses have about where the economy will be a year from now.

Housing shortage on the cards. Will this translate into higher prices for housing in those areas of shortage? While Gareth Morgan suggest that NZ property prices will flat-line, simple supply and demand economics dictate that where demand outstrips supply, then price pressures will apply.
